We are excited to provide details regarding our first planned litter of 2010, sired by Southland's Lexington out of our lovely Can Ch. Davenloch No Need To Whisper - Bailey! We are very excited about this litter and that much more now that we have seen the outstanding quality results of Lexington's first puppies here at Davenloch out of our Can Ch. Davenloch's Pillow Talk as well as what Lex has been siring in the U.S. for his owner Mike Cheatham. Again a huge thank you to Mike Cheatham of Southland for allowing us the opportunity to have Lex visit us for the winter and to utilize him in our breeding program! WE ARE CURRENTLY TAKING RESERVATIONS FOR TRI COLOR PUPPIES IN BOTH ROUGH AND SMOOTH FROM THIS LITTER FOR PUPPIES THAT WOULD BE AVAILABLE FOR NEW HOMES SPRING OF 2010. Please contact us for further information about an exceptional show prospect, beautiful performance or companion puppy!
The absolutely beautiful Am. Ch. Tartanside Allegiance ROM HIC - Lee. Davenloch Collies has followed this dog's career very closely over the years and in fact sought out obtaining one of his daughters very early on in his siring career. We were blessed to obtain his daughter, the now Can Ch. Lachki Rosewood By Request - Abbey, herself currently the dam of 6 Davenloch champions with more to come. Abbey truly helped propel Davenloch forward by leaps and bounds in our breeding program. We are also very fortunate to now have Can Ch. Valley Park Davenloch's Dominion - Parker, a Lee son reside with us here at Davenloch as we continue on in our journey pursuing the elusive perfect collie, while always "expecting the exceptional" along the way!
Sorry but we do not have anything available at the present time. We are however currently taking reservations for our upcoming winter/spring 2010 litter, where we are expecting both smooths and roughs in tri color only. Please contact us for further information.
David Clarke of Davenloch & Jo-Ann Friend of Cardoness Collies with Lee - Am Ch. Tartanside Allegiance ROM HIC at the Collie Club of America National Specialty 2009 in Springfield, Massachusetts. A heartfelt thank you to Michelle Struble of Valley Park Collies, Lee's owner for the opportunity to take this picture.
Davenloch puppies are placed in approved homes with a formal written health guarantee, first shots, deworming, purebred identification whether this be through a microchip or tattoo, and detailed eye examinations of which a copy of the eye exam certificate provided by the examining vet is also provided to the puppy purchaser. We have EVERY puppy from EVERY litter examined thoroughly by a canine opthamologist at 7 weeks of age to ensure we know the eye check status of every single one of our dogs. We strongly recommend to anyone looking for a quality collie puppy that unless you actually see the eye check document from the examining veterinarian, to be very weary of any claims of the puppy having completely normal eyes, or even a claim that the puppy has only the mildest form of Collie Eye Anomaly. We believe that obtaining such information in writing serves to protect the purchaser, the breeder, and in the end, the collie itself. It should also be pointed out that if an eye exam is performed on an older dog, that eye defects that may have been visible at 7-12 weeks of age, may be far more difficult to detect, if they are visible at all. This has the potential of skewing the results of collie eye testing, as a dog could perhaps be diagnosed as normal eyed, when in fact Collie Eye Anomaly would have been visible to an examining veterinarian had the eye exam been performed at a much earlier age. Skewed results in our opinion do no justice for the collie as this does not provide the accurate picture that should be required by ethical breeders when selectively breeding for quality collies. Neither does this provide for full disclosure to families who may wish to add a quality collie puppy to their lives and homes. In the end we are proud to say that we take the stand we do on this issue for the benefit of all parties. We also fully guarantee against any disqualifying faults on all show prospect puppies. Great care is taken to ensure the best match of the dog with the right family. All dogs placed, are CKC registered with all companion puppies being placed on a non-breeding agreement having to be spayed or neutered before 7 months of age.
Please contact us to determine availability. Reservations are recommended, especially if you are interested in a particular sex, colour or coat type.
Below are a few candids of happy healthy Davenloch rough puppies!
Sired by Southland's Lexington out of our lovely Serena, Can Ch. Davenloch's Pillow Talk, these beautiful puppies are from our litter born August 29th. Once again thank you to Mike Cheatham of Southland Collies for the opportunity to utilize Lexington in our breeding program, and for sending him up to visit with us for the winter.
