October 9 - NEWS FLASH!!!! We are honoured to be hosting Southland's Lexington here at Davenloch through March of 2010!!!!   Lex is standing at stud here, to approved bitches only.   This outstanding tri boy is TIGHTLY linebred on Am Ch. Southland's Bowen Island ROM, and we can't thank Mike Cheatham of Southland Collies enough for sharing Lex with us for this period of time!   Here he is!!!!!   His pedigree is available on our Upcoming Litters Pedigree page.   Lex is the sire of our litter born August 29th out of our gorgeous Can Ch. Davenloch's Pillow Talk.   We also would like to congratulate Jolene Macuaig, and Davenloch Storm Warning - AKA Kort, for winning Best of Breed and a Group 3 today at the Edmonton Kennel Club shows!   Kort is sired by our Am Ch. Galatean Time In A Bottle son, Logan, out of our Am Ch. Tartanside Allegiance daughter, Abbey.   Way to go guys.   That championship is not far off at all!

September 29 - Well our new puppies are a little over 4 weeks old and we are VERY pleased with the quality they are showing.   We hope to have more pictures of them up very soon.   We are also proud to annouce that Multi Best Puppy In Specialty Show - Can Ch. Davenloch Cherfire Wildfire - Kallie - (Can Ch. Sylvan Argent Foreign Affair X Can Ch. Lachki Rosewood By Request earned her HIC this past weekend in Chilliwack British Columbia!   Also, a son of our lovely Can Ch. Valley Park Davenloch's Dominion - Cherfire's Yellow Brick Road - Benny, earned his HIC!   Congratulations to Cheryl Ellis and her kids for again showing the versatility and working abilities of our collies!

August 30 - Yes we do have new puppies!   Serena spent the entire day of August 29, delivering her family of 9 new babies.   We have 7 males and 2 females We hope to have some pictures of the new family up very soon, once both mom and our household get a bit of rest that is!

August 26 - We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our litter sired by Southland's Lexington out of our Serena - Can Ch. Davenloch's Pillow Talk.   Like any prospective mother waiting to give birth during the summer, she is not very comfortable at this point seeing as the puppies are due August 30th, so we do our best to make sure she has as many outside comforts as possible.   We are also hoping that mother nature smiles on us for puppies from our lovely Abbey - Can Ch. Lachki Rosewood By Request, Serena's mother,   come mid October.   We will keep you posted.   We have kept three gorgeous blue puppies from our litter of May 15, sired by Wyndlair Avalanche out of our Bailey, Can Ch. Davenloch No Need To Whisper.   Please check back soon for updated pictures of Leah, Cajun and Bear.   Bear is co-owned with Nadeen Pickard, and will be residing in Manitoba with Nadeen and her husband Russ once they have settled into their new home later this fall.   We hope to introduce these guys to the ring late this year or early in 2010!!!!!

May 16 - The new puppies have arrived.   Bailey whelped 6 beautiful blue puppies by Wyndlair Avalanche Friday May 15 - One girl and five boys!!   We are not 100% sure as to who is rough or smooth at this point, but having said that these puppies are stunningly marked, vigorous and active.   The smallest puppy was 11 ounces and largest was 1 Pound!!! with the others all right up there close to a pound.   Mom and kids are all just fine!!!!   Our vet in the ultrasound thought he saw 9 but it looks like the sheer size of these babies gave off an appearance that was more difficult to read than first thought.

May 11 - Congratulations go out to Davenloch Storm Warning - Kort and his owner Jolene McCuaig of Lethbridge, Alberta.   Jolene handled Kort to his first points at the Medicine Hat Canine Association shows this past weekend!   Davenloch is very excited to watch Kort as he pursues his championship.   We are also anxiously awaiting Korts debut in obedience and performance venues as well. Again congrats Jolene and Kort.   Kort is another quality boy sired by our Ch. Sylvan Argent Foreign Affair X Ch. Lachki Rosewood By Request - Abbey!

May 3 - We are pleased to report that Ch. Davenloch's Pillow Talk - Serena took 3 Group 4ths at the Lakes District Kennel Club this past weekend!   The leaves Serena solidly in the top 5 rough collies in Canada at this point in the year. Way to go Serena!   Serena was handled to these group placements by Sherri Johnson of Edana Kennels.   Thank you Sherri!   With many of our dogs now beginning to sport their summer attire and our new litter due less than two weeks away, we will be switching into full puppy mode as we anxiously await our all blue litter!!

April 23 - It is confirmed!!!! - Bailey is in whelp to the gorgeous Wyndlair Avalanche (Aiden), who is owned by Mike (Sheela) Cheatham of Southland Collies in Petersburg Tennessee, and Matt and Anita Stelter of Wyndlair Collies in Wisconsin. We are so very looking forward to these puppies for a few reasons.   First off, we had a chance to see a few of Aiden's kids in the flesh so to speak when we were at the Collie Club of America National in Springfield, Massachusetts a few weeks back.   His puppies were beautiful, consistently displaying the virtues we cherish, and complimenting our own dogs in the areas we feel we need it.   We had seen puppies of his only by pictures before, and after many conversations with other breeders and of course with his owners, we decided he was the one to breed to Bailey.   A bonus of this litter, is that they will all be blue as Aiden is a double dilute, and when such a dog is bred to a tri, the entire litter will be blue merle!!!! We now have to wait and see who is rough and who is smooth.   May 15 can not come fast enough!

April 14 - We had a fantastic time at the Collie Club of America National Specialty the week of April 7-11. We travelled with Jo-Ann Friend of Cardoness Collies - Calgary, Alberta, to Springfield Massachusetts to attend the show that we look forward to attending every year.   With 850 plus collies entered, we showed three of our girls.   Our lovely Serena - Can Ch. Davenloch's Pillow Talk made the cut in the VERY competitive Open Sable and White class handled by Jo-Ann Friend and we received numerous compliments from breeders who attended from around the globe regarding our girls.   It was wonderful to catch up with old friends, as well as to make new ones.   We are already looking forward to attending the CC of A in Pomona California in April of 2010!   We also made a side trip on the way back to the airport, at Niagara Falls, where the three girls were almost as much of a tourist attraction as the falls were!

March 31 - We are pleased to announce that we have a new Champion - It is now Can Ch. Davenloch's Simply Priceless (pending CKC confirmation) - Gavin finished his Canadian title at the Battle River Canine Associaton shows on Sunday March 30 under Judge Mark Houston - McMillan.   Gavin is Champion # 6 for Ch. Lachki Rosewood By Request - Abbey, and he is co-owned with David & Jo-Ann Friend (Cardoness Collies) of Calgary, Alberta.   Gavin is Davenloch's third Champion to finish in 2009!

March 5 - We are looking very forward to our trip to the Collie Club of America National Specialty in Springfield Mass. at the beginning of April!   Jo-ann Friend of Calgary, Alberta, who recently began her own kennel that will be known as Cardoness Collies, will be joining us for her first trip to the U.S. National.   For those who are going to be there, please look us up and stop by our grooming area for a chat!

March 2 - We had a wonderful weekend at the Calgary Kennel & Obedience Club shows - Our lovely Ch. Davenloch's Pillow Talk - Serena went Best of Breed all three days and Serena also picked up a Group 2 under longstanding and respected judge Cheryl Myers-Egerton.   We thank Cheryl for this win, and her wonderful comments regarding Serena!   We also went Winners Dog/Best of Winners/Best of Opposite two of the three days with Davenloch's Simply Priceless - Gavin, who is progressing steadily towards his Championship!   Below are a couple of pictures of Serena, one being her Group 2 win and the other a candid shot taken by Photos-Now of Prince George BC while Serena was in the Group ring!

February 20 - We are pleased to announce that Ch. Davenloch Colour Me Happy - Paisley, finished off 2008 as the Number 9 Overall Rough Collie in Canada for 2008. Finishing off the year in the top 10 is a wonderful sense of accomplishment.   All the more when this was obtained through only 3 weekends of showing that resulted in numerous group placements at shows with nice entries as well as acknowledgement of this beautiful blue girl by both all breed and breeder specialist judges. Watch to hear more about Paisley this year!

Our first show weekend of 2009 was very exciting and we have alot of news to put in here.   First off we have TWO new champions - Parker is now Ch. Valley Park Davenloch's Dominion who finished on the Friday going Winners Dog under Judge Michael Woods, and it is now Ch. (pending CKC confirmation) Davenloch Cherfire Wildfire!   Kallie (BPISS Ch. Sylvan Argent Foreign Affair X Ch. Lachki Rosewood By Request) is owned by Cheryl Ellis of Cherfire Collies.   Kallie went Winners Bitch/Best of Winners/Best Puppy on the Friday for 5 points and finished off on Saturday with another Winners Bitch/Best of Winners/Best Puppy.   Then Kallie went on to Best Puppy In Specialty at the Alberta Shetland Sheepdog & Collie Association Specialty Show under Judge Barry Hastings! Kallie also makes Champion number 5 for her Dam, our lovely Abbey, Ch. Lachki Rosewood by Request.   Ch. Davenloch Here Comes The Sun - Abbey (BPIS, BPISS Ch. Davenloch Prometheus Unbound X Bannerstone's Party For Two), owned by Dave & Jo-Ann Friend of Calgary, Alberta, took Best of Opposite Sex Smooth at this Specialty show, and Davenloch's Storm Warning - Kort (BPISS Ch. Sylvan Argent Foreign Affair X Ch. Lachki Rosewood by Request), owned and loved by Jolene McCuaig of Lethbridge, Alberta went Reserve Winners Dog!   We are not done yet!   We also won the ASSCA Sweepstakes that preceded the specialty show where Ch. Davenloch's Pillow Talk - Serena went Best In Sweepstakes and Davenloch's Simply Priceless - Gavin went Best of Opposite!   Also, Ch. Davenloch's Pillow Talk - Serena was pulled for final consideration for Best of Breed at the Specialty show!   It was such a pleasure seeing Serena standing in the centre of the ring holding her own as one of the final two - right next to a seasoned, mature bitch -   Canada's number 1 rough collie for 2007, All Breed Best In Show winner, multi group winner, Collie Club of America National Specialty Show Award of Merit winner, and being considered there for Best of Breed at the tender age of not quite 18 months!   We can't wait to see what happens when Serena grows up just a bit more.   Thank you once again to Jo-Ann Friend for her lovely presentation of Serena at the Specialty.   You and Serena together did us proud!

We also saw Gavin, Davenloch's Simply Priceless (BPISS Ch. Sylvan Argent Foreign Affair X Ch. Lachki Rosewood By Request), go Winners Dog on the Saturday for his first points as a junior puppy and we were VERY excited to see the little blue rough girl - Davenloch Walkin On Sunshine - Katrina, (BPISS Ch. Sylvan Argent Foreign Affair X Davenloch Armed & Fabulous) take Winners Bitch on the Sunday under respected Collie breeder Judge James Noe of Two Jays Collies fame for her first points!   Katrina is owned by Dave & Jo-Ann Friend of Calgary.   Little Katrina held her own all weekend as a VERY junior puppy being only 6 months and 10 days old, and we are happy that she was found by a respected long standing Collie Breeder judge at this her first set of shows!

We also would like to thank Teri Heintz for all her help over the weekend. This was her very first dog show after taking show handling classes with her Belgian Malanois named Arco. We wish to thank Teri for showing Parker for us to finish his championship on the Friday of this weekend and for all her help throughout. Thank you again Teri!

Congratulations to those who attended the show with us, for some very nice winning.   Thank you for bringing your dogs you obtained through us.   All your hard work truly shone through and the results speak for themselves!

Below are some pictures of the weekend!
